Ideally situated for visiting both Windsor and the attractions of the surrounding areas, the Wheatsheaf is also conveniently close to Heathrow Airport and has direct and easy transport links to London by both road and rail.
Built in 1768 on the edge of Great Windsor Park, in June 1801 the Wheatsheaf received a visit from George III, Queen Charlotte and Prince Adolphus. The King and his son visited Windsor Great Park to inspect works taking place to the lake. With works complete the King's third son, William IV, opened Windsor Great Park to the public in the 1830's. In 1851 The Wheatsheaf was enlarged for the coming of the railways, which meant even more custom. In the Victorian and Edwardian eras the Wheatsheaf flourished as never before. Today you will find a traditional and charming pub and hotel, with 17 en suite, air conditioned rooms.
