| Dating back to the late 1800s, The Ethorpe Hotel started life as a private residence. A Buckinghamshire census of 1891 records the Bellairs family living here along with their domestic staff. Abbram Ennis a stockbroker, was the head of the family and the house was simply known as Ethorpe. The first record of the house becoming a licensed hotel was in 1924.
